GPA24-003. Location: Citywide. Applicant: City of Del Mar. Description: This is a Planning Commission recommendation hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Del Mar Community Plan (General Plan) to update the City’s Safety Element. California Government Code Section 65302 requires local jurisdictions to adopt and maintain a General Plan Safety Element consistent with State law. The purpose of the Safety Element is to incorporate safety considerations into the planning process by establishing goals, policies, and implementation actions intended to minimize the risk of injury, loss of life, property damage, and environmental damage associated with natural and man-made hazards. The Planning Commission is asked to provide a recommendation to the City Council. The City Council will consider adoption of the proposed amendments at a future noticed public hearing.
