SSP18-001. CDP18-019. EA18-001. Location: 1702 Coast Boulevard and 1716 Ocean Front. Description: Setback Seawall Permit (SSP18-001) and Coastal. Development Permit (CDP-18-001) to remove existing rock revetment fronting the properties and to construct an approximately 130-foot-long vertical cantilevered seawall to be located east (landward) of the Shoreline Protection Area (SPA) line. The project would maintain existing public beach access by incorporating a new public access stairway into the southern end of the proposed seawall and connecting to the existing return wall on the 17th Street Beach Safety Center seawall. The Planning Commission will also consider certification of an associated Addendum to the 1989 Beach Preservation Initiative (BPI) Ordinance Program Environmental Impact Report (PEIR) finding that the project would not result in any new environmental impacts compared to the previously certified Program EIR.
