In-Lieu Housing Mitigation Fee. Location: Citywide. Owner/Applicant: City of Del Mar. Staff Contact: Shaun McMahon, Management Analyst. Environmental Status: The proposed fee is exempt from CEQA in accordance with CEQA Guidelines Section 15237 (Rates, Tolls, Fares, and Charges). Description: A request for the Planning Commission to provide a recommendation to the City Council on the potential increase, and change of fee structure, to the current In-Lieu Housing Mitigation Fee (flat rate per unit of $23,508) to a proposed rate charged on a per square foot basis. This fee is currently charged to development projects when between 2-5 units are constructed or converted for for-sale ownership per Del Mar Municipal Code Chapter 24.21.
